Ever since I saw his post earlier in coin chat I have been looking for this coin - got to admit I found all my old foreign coins, 300 ring, freshman high school ring and several other things I had forgotten about. Finally found it in a box of ticket stubs, patches and junk - a fun search. My grandma got me one of these back in the late 60's and early 70's and I think this is it. The dirt and stuff on the reverse almost gives it a woodie effect. So post your luck pennies for jack. AND YES I USED penny on purpose. :mouth:
I have one of those somewhere. The reverse looks like a bowl it bowed inward so much when the ring was attached. I'll have to find it and see if I can get a picture.
I have one laying around somewhere as well. It's horsesho shaped like the one pictured and is from the 1940's Horseshoe Hotel and Casino in Vegas. I'll have to look for it. Guy~
Heres a lucky nickel, I won it in a coin club auction, it is from the Phoenix ANA show I would assume.
And my favorite, it combines my Detroit collection. I have not seen another coffee cup shape besides this one. THANKS for the thread and the posts !! Great stuff, keep em coming !!
Very cool coins and great pocket pieces. I seem to recall having a lucky piece from Coney Island, Brooklyn when I was a child. I have no idea where it might be now. Bruce
