At the grocery store today, I got 4 BU 1964 Canadian cents in my change. Before leaving, I went back to the cashier and asked if she had anymore "shiny" pennies in her till. She didn't but then she said she had another full roll. When she popped open her till I recognized the red paper as an older bank roll. I bought it from her (there was only one old one the others were new). So I opened it when I got home and they were all uncirculated! I went through each of them and got about half a dozen with only a couple of dings otherwise they were perfect. Also, there were seven with a clash that I've never come across. Similar to the "harp" and "guitar" varieties found in the 1962's. Here's a pic of one without the clash: With the clash: Detail of location of clash:
Usually this store has nothing but new rolls, so I think someone must have paid for their purchase with old rolls. I wish I had been there a little earlier.
Great find! I always keep Canadian pennies I find in roll searching, never found any as nice as those!
