Last month I went through a number of my quarters. I had 2 folders I wanted to fill with the National Park Quarters. I found a number of them. I also found a roll of them that I plugged all but 2 of my remaining Denver mints a few weeks ago. Today I got through the rest of my Quarters. And what did I find? The last two quarters I needed. Now I have all of the State Quarters and all of the National Park Quarters. I have the S mints but no slots for them in these folders. My OCD kicked in so I filled the empty holes with the women’s quarters. I have all of them in a tube so these are extras to fill the holes.
One of my goals in collecting after I got all of my father's coins set, was to start collecting State P & D quarters. I went to a bookstore and found one of the coin "books" to put my state quarters in. My last quarters were the ones for the territories. I had to go to ebay to buy them. Then I started on the Parks. I got the "book" to put my quarters in. Again, it took a while, but I finally finished it. One of my goals was to put the nicest quarters in the books. When I got a quarter that I didn't have, I would plug the hole. As I did in doing the State Book, I would plug the whole and if I got a better quality quarter, I would take the quarter out of the book and replace it with the quarter I got. I didn't intend to have "mint" quarters in the books, just nice ones. As with others that collected the State and Parks quarters, I didn't put Proof quarters in the books. I also, didn't collect "S" quarters for my books, but now that I've finished them, I think I'll start on "S" quarters and figure out how to included them with my books. Any ideas? Thanks
Off the top of my head just use your Red Book to see what you’re getting yourself into and buy a plain, no dates folder.
Like most collectors, I started off collecting wheat cents and branched out from there. Half dollars and Morgans were big on the list but sometimes and still, I would get bored waiting for something to come along that I could afford. So I collected State quarters to fill the need to horde, then America the Beautiful. I have a pile of American Women quarters but no organization yet. I have every quarter minted including proofs from 1939 to 2021 in MS condition, only missing a couple of proofs to have them all back to 1932. I have no clue how many there are total, only that I was afraid my safe was going to go through the floor so a bought another and spread out the weight. What a fun series to collect, if you got as much satisfaction as I did collecting these, you are a content person.
