Just found this in a roll and thought this was pretty cool. I poked at the bubble with a toothpick, and didn't pop. The way it looks in the picture, is the way it was when I found it. It's cool, lower case "i".
Plating issue or not, it's still pretty cool. How many plating issues have you seen that made a lower case I like this one. I mean, it's dead on, proper spacing and centering.
Indeed. Sometimes, I think people lose touch with the simple pleasure of finding an interesting coin and focus too much on what will grade and sell for top dollar.
Just a thought, I wonder what someone would pay for a coin like this? Yes, top dollar goes for what grades high and kind of error. But people do pay over for they like too. If you had alot of people who liked this coin, and it's a very hard non-error coin to find, I'm sure it would sell for over face value. There are different kind of folks out there that collect all sorts of things that tickle their fancy. I'm sure this would tickle alot of those collectors.
Images of what the whole coin looks like would be cool. If it's a nice looking coin folks may pay a bit more to own in. If it's ugly they wont. I'll guess you will only get a few dollars out of it.
A few dollars is better than 1 cent. I'll post the whole coin later today. I'm hanging onto this one for quite awhile though.
