Love token George II.jpg Here is an interesting love token in my collection. It has beatiful engraving on one side and 5 stamped marks on the back. Can anyone identify these marks, especially the WC in a rectangle? Any idea on value?

I really enjoy the counterstamped coins and that is a great one! Love it!

I did a quick search and found this possible reference in a Stacks auction. But couldn't find a picture so don't know that it is a match (and not very helpful anyway).

Great Britain half cent with "WC" in rectangle not in Brunk

Those look more like silversmith hallmarks than regular countermarks. I would start looking there.

Thanks bonbonbelly but the marks on my coin are different from all the marks on that site. The Lion Passants shaped marks that are not stamped in a rectangle but by itself with the straigth tail detailed, and in two different sizes are especially intringuing to me.

This is correct, one side has been used as a practise piece for Silver hallmarking
The Lion denotes British 925 Sterling Silver, the WC is the makers mark the others could have been any of the thousands of silver marks for different assay offices throughout the land.
