I just got this Error overprint of a 1995 dollar bill. I love the fascination of the errors and how they happen. Please add your comments on good or bad about this subject, I have met folks that don't like errors. To each their own I guess. 1995 $1.00 over print Obv..jpg

Are they British? There was a member here who hated errors.. we had some really crazy discussions about "the high minting standards of British coins and how they didn't have errors and that they were not interested in collecting them".. then I showed him plenty of British mint errors that were discovered and known.. he never has bothered me since.

no not Brits, just folks that said they had no interest in errors or misprints. They preferred clean and crisp coins and bills. As I said I guess that's what so good about this hobby. Some only collect Lincolns..go figger huh?

He would say that Americans were silly in collecting mint errors.. I said I'm happy because that would mean more for me to find and own!

I recently had a dollar where the last digit was about 1/10 inch higher than the rest. It was crisp at the time should I have kept on to it?

You can keep anything you like, but in many ways, the more noticeable an error is, the more valuable it is.

Misalignment of serial numbers is somewhat common. I have found several examples. I keep them, but I don't think they have a lot of value.

Why don't you start a new thread, post a picture and show everyone what you've got.
A new thread, with the proper heading, will get a lot more attention and answers.

Very cool find, I personally love errors. A keeper for sure.

I have met people that love errors and some that hate errors. Really depends on the individual. Also, I have seen where some care less for slight errors and will place their whole life savings on the epic error. Errors are a weird animal that takes the right person to sometimes love.
