I went through 3 bags of halves last night from the bank. 2 bags pretty dang good, while the third had nothing in it. Here's what I found: 4 Walking Liberty Halves- 1935,1936,1944,1944D 6 Franklin Halves- 1951D, 1958, 1960D, 1960D, 1960D, 1961D, 1962D 1964- 16 1965- 3 1966- 8 1967- 35 1968D- 42 1969D- 7 I also found 12 proofs: 71,73,74,76,76-40%, 77, 77, 78, 78, 89, 90, 94 And lastly, I found 5 Halves that weren't released for circulation, 2004 P and D 2005 Two D's 2006D Silver total: 40%-96 90%-26 Oh, and I found a LOT of foreign coins....Can anyone identify these two? All-in-all, not so bad =)
OK, what bank have you been finding all this stuff at!!?? I'm driving up there right know! BTW, the first world coins is a 100 drachm Greek coin.
Nice find. I think its great to pull silver from circulation.:thumb: finding the Franklins and walkers is really great.
Nice finds. It is nice to know, in 2007, that most people still don't know a lot about coins, and let these slip through.
I hope I am near that lucky. I went to a branch of my credit union and orderd 25 rolls of halves that I shoudl be able to pick up either on Tues or Wed. Y'all are a bad influence on me, making me want to start roll searching
Just how many rolls or bags have some of you searched, and how many silver coins found, for comparison?
If I had to guess, I'd say I've looked through $15,000 in halves, or 30,000 halves, which gives me a keeper rate of 2.8%, which is pretty good.
