Yup, going to the ANA show we saw lots of older styler money being handed back in change. Small Face 5's 20's... etc. It was pretty fun.
I didnt keep any, because nothing was special (if it was, you can bet that we wouldnt have gotten it back in change - lol)

Whens the next time I see that much old style in change somewhere else, who knows? lol

Sounds fun. I was on my way there this am, had some coins in my pocket and my loop (what a geek) :goofer: but I had to get my brakes done. It was 8 and figuring about 1-2 hours for the brakes I'd make it to the convention center for the afternoon. HA! 5 1/2 hours later they were done. I'll try tomorrow I guess :goof:

My guess is that this is a sign of hard times (and that no one is buying too much circulated pre-1996 bills).

    a very real possibility.

also, not a lot of folks think any of them are worth more then face. even AG notes from the distant past bring decent premiums.

but i think you are right - i think that with the national economy weakening every day - folks have to choose what they spend money on.

Some of us keep a fair amount of that stuff as emergency money, or hold it until something better comes along.

Imagine for the dealers, something better was probably anything that a collector offered to them that would move quicker for a 10% or better return.

BTW most of my emergency money is 1934 all series, 1950 etc. I get them at banks, I have tellers that will save stuff for me. Also helps that I live in an area with a lot of older folks that misplaced them etc. then dig them out years later etc.
