Lost in the mail?

I have been buying 2 to 3 coins per week for a while. Most of them get shipped via US Postal Service.

Yesterday I had two tracking numbers showing they were "out for delivery" and eventually both of them said they were delivered. When I got home from work, only one of the packages was in my mailbox. I checked with my neighbors, but nothing. The interesting thing is the mail always comes down our street between 12:00pm and 1:00pm. The item that was delivered shows on the tracking page it was delivered at 12:30pm which sounds correct. The one that didn't show up said it was delivered at 10:30am. How could that be? My guess is it was delivered to somebody in a totally different neighborhood.

The coins weren't very valuable. The packages was supposed to contain 2x 1950's era German 5-Mark silver coins. I paid $17 for the pair. So it isn't a huge loss. But does anyone think I'll ever see the package? Since I wouldn't say this is the fault of the seller, I don't see any reason to pester them about it. What would you do?

Postal system is getting worse and worse everyday. I live off the beaten path and its almost become a joke with the homes on this road. Who will get whos mail. Yesterday I received mail for 2 other houses. When I took the outgoing mail out this morning.. there was a piece of mail in the box that was there overnight that somebody on the road REDELIVERED to me. Happens 3-4 times a week here.

No, don't call the PO. You should get a printout of both tracking numbers from online, take them with you to the PO and ask to speak to the Postmaster or whomever is in charge.

Some Post Offices are starting to send a separate carrier to deliver packages shipped through the USPS.

We have on here in our complex who comes through with just parcels, around 11A.M, and the regular carrier delivers our mail around 1:30P.M.

Good news.. I guess I over-reacted. The missing coins showed up in my mailbox today with the rest of the mail.
