    Now we come to...

    ROUND 5.

The prize is another Roman antoninianus of the emperor Gallienus, struck between 260 and 268 AD. The reverse inscription honors Aeternitas and features the sun god Sol.

Here is the Wildwinds page (scroll down to RIC-160 under the issues from Gallienus' sole reign).

Perhaps our ancient coin experts can chime in with further information about this coin.

To enter this round, all you need to do is:

    1. Say that you want it, and
    2. A word or two about why you want it or what you like about it.

If you do not want the coin for yourself, you may enter on someone else's behalf. Simply name the person you would like to have it if your entry wins the drawing.

Then, sometime in the next 1-3 days or so, we'll do the drawing and move on to the next round. This round is open for entries until such time as I announce the drawing.

    I want that..........for @BuffaloHunter.
Even though I don't have a Gallienus, I have coins with Aeternitas or Sol with globe reverses.

I want that for @IrishLuck. Usually I would want the coin for myself, but I’m going to be a bit busy over the next few days and won’t really be monitoring CoinTalk on any regular basis (no offense meant).

Congratulations to @gabsar9115 and @ancient times for their recent wins.

We have been working hard to prepare our outdoor farm animals for the next few days of extremely cold conditions in our area, wrapping up anybody we could grab with anything we found available.

OK, so these pics came from the web, but we have been preparing for the cold…. covering animals homes with tarps, stuffing cloth in gaps in the eaves, and stapling plastic over open windows; anything to fight the cold wind.

@IrishLuck may just win this in celebration of one of our granddaughters just returning (yesterday) home after a semester abroad at Maynooth University in Ireland.

We put an old mattress pad out in our yard dog Teddy's doghouse, to give him something warmer to hunker down in, but it has been dragged out into the yard. *sigh*

What a cool opportunity for your daughter! Just after high school I had the opportunity to go to Ireland for a month or so, but didn't do it. I would have had to sell my first car (which I had just gotten), and give up my job (which would have been no big loss), so I chickened out and chose the more stable known routine instead of adventure. I wonder how different my horizons would have been, had I done that trip.
