    I want that.

It would be my first ancient coin as well. And it is silver, which really does give it an extra "zing". Glad your FUN trip really was fun.

I want it! I want that silver denarius of Caracalla
I have a bronze Caracalla coin but this would be awesome to own.
Thank you for the great 8 prize contest! Fun that lasted a goodly time.

Septimius Severus appointed Caracalla and his younger brother Geta to be co-rulers of the Roman Empire before he died. Shortly after his death, it is likely that Caracalla had Geta killed which made him sole emperor.
He was a soldier first and an emperor second and left the administration responsibilities to his mother Julia Domna.
His battles were with the Germanic people.
He must have been a clean emperor, because he completed the Baths of Caracalla which were considered one of the seven wonders of Rome.
There were many beautiful statues, mosaics and paintings on walls and ceilings. It had a capacity of as many as 1600 people.

I want that coin, Me Lord.

I need to win it because I spent all of my hobby money on US coins at the FUN show. (I know; helluva reason).

But it’s a cool coin and silver really increases the appeal to us folks who don’t know much about ancients.

Extra entry post. I want that for @Santinidollar. Sorry we didn’t cross paths at the show. Sounds like it was a near miss.

We probably didn’t meet because I spent all of Friday on the left side of the room in the 100s-400s aisles, sniffing around in World & Ancients territory. I didn’t cross the room to the other side except for one quick trip to the PCGS booth to submit a few pieces for photos and reholdering.

If you were at the @ToughCOINS table on Friday, after y’all had lunch, then there’s a possibility we passed within a few feet of one another when I ran that errand. But I didn’t do anything else on that half of the floor, or get over to his table, until Saturday afternoon.
