    I want it, to be my first ancient. This is one I'll hold on to until my grandson is old enough to appreciate its 'ancientness'. Hmmmm, I might coin that phrase. See what I did there?

    I want it! It's impossible to have too many ancients, and this is an emperor that I don't have yet. Here's my newest ancient:

    Gallic Secessionist Empire, Bronze Antoninianus of Victorinus. Cologne mint, Circa 270-271 AD

    Obverse: IMP C VICTORINVS P F AVG, radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of the Gallic emperor Victorinus right.

    Reverse: SALVS AVG; Salus standing left, feeding snake arising from altar and holding sceptre.


    RIC 71. Cologne mint. 270-271 AD. Ex-David Connors, May 2020. Ex @lordmarcovan December 2022.

    I’ll try to catch up and do the Round 1 drawing when I get home, if I’m not too tired after graveyard shift.

    Because of all the hyperlinks involved, and copy-pasting, etc., I prefer to do all that when I’m sitting at a desktop PC with a proper mouse and keyboard. It’s a pain to do all that with my phone.

    There’s a proper desktop right here at work, but alas, I can no longer access CoinTalk from it. Our company’s IT overlords have put some apparently draconian security settings on the network, so about 1/3 of all the sites I try to access (CT included) are blocked due to some kind of “privacy” error to do with security certificates. It’s a bit of a pain, because some of the sites I’m surfing are actually to get work-related info!

    But I digress. Suffice it to say, I can now only access CT from work via my phone. *sigh*

    I’m wondering if I should add an eighth mystery coin prize round at the end of this cointest. Perhaps a piece of Roman silver might be nice, hmm? ;)
