LordM Giveaway #117 (pick your prize) Contest status: OPEN Drawing: pending, on or after November 1, 2024 Shipping status: pending Winner's receipt: pending ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Hello, everyone, and welcome to the latest giveaway. This will be another one of my "pick your prize" contests, so you can hopefully win something you'll like. To enter: 1. Go view my Giveaway Gallery. 2. Post an entry here, stating which prize you would prefer. 3. State why you chose what you did. NOTE: That last bit is important. To qualify, you have to not only pick a prize, but also say WHY you picked it. I do not require an essay. A few words will do. I just like to hear which items folks like, and what appealed to them about a particular lot. However, if you are entering on someone else's behalf, you are not required to pick a prize or say why. Your designated proxy will get to pick their choice later, if your entry wins for them. Your prize choice need not be final. Since I do periodically add new prizes to the Giveaway Gallery, you'll be given a chance to change your mind at the end, if you win the drawing. I just like to hear the initial selections up front, since it gives me an idea of what folks like. Click the pic to go to the prize gallery. The drawing will be done via random number generator sometime on or after the date mentioned at the top of this post. The timing will depend on my schedule. You may consider the contest open for entries until such time as I have posted the final result of the drawing. Totally free: the contest is free of charge, open to everyone, with free worldwide shipping. The only further requirement is that if you win... Please post a receipt in this thread after you get the prize, so we'll know you got it (that helps me keep track). Good luck! Numismatic regards, ~Robertson ("Rob") Shinnick ("LordM") ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ LordM Giveaway archive This contest is brought to you by Grace and Snowflake. Entry Post because my Gracie photo is cuter than your Gracie photo.... I am in for the old Cobb because I am a closet pirate.... Arrggghhhh.
I'm in for the 1856 large cent, one reason being that it is a problem-free XF, which would go along with my AU coin. I could kickstart an 1856 grade set with those 2 coins. That was a tough one to choose over the Seated quarter!
Entry post, I like the 1865 3 cent piece.. I was around 14 years old and found a beauty just like it in my Pops spare change. Exact same 1865 date. It was my oldest coin for years and years. I can't remember what happened to it. Thank you LordM!!
Entry post. Going for the 1924 Peace Dollar. It looks better than the one I have. Thanks for the opportunity @lordmarcovan. Here is one for your enjoyment.
Entry post, I'm wanting that 1924 Peace Dollar, that would fit nicely in my small collection! Anyone have a headache, here's a Chilian Puzzle, a medical device scam from many moons ago!
I'll go in for the half-real again, though it's a toss-up between that and the denar. I've got to get my hands on some early world silver, after all. This coin isn't particularly rare or valuable, but WWII coins are pretty interesting IMO. Sorry for the bad pics, I haven't gotten around to updating all my photos.
I'm in for another contest. As always thank you LordM for your generosity. If I'm lucky enough to be picked I would choose the Morgan Dollar, who doesn't like large silver.
Entry post for @Randy Abercrombie and the cobb and hope for the best recoveries in the Carolinas, especially Asheville, can't believe the devistaton, fall won't be the same this year for sure.I was planning on visiting my father again this fall but seeing Asheville during landing and on the drive was one of the best parts.Due to the effects I won't be visiting this time for now.
Thanks again for the opportunity! I would like to enter for the 1896 Morgan dollar, if it is still available. I like it because I have liked big coins ever since I started collecting at eight years old. Here is a picture of an 1878 CC Morgan Dollar I picked up cheaply in a bunch of common date silver dollars.
Entry Post. Sticking with the Provincial Septimius Severus coin. Dogs got out of the yard today and scattered for a couple hours. We got them back, but was a big, stressful drama. Malik, the youngest rescue Saluki will not come or let people close if he is loose. Ugh. All is well though. Best of luck to everyone this month!
Entry Post. I like the looks of the 1940 Mercury with Ob die breaks. Thank you for another contest, Rob. Here is a 1972 D 10 Pfenning I found in a pair of leather German Submarine pants a couple of weeks ago. .
Everybody, please read the text in bold red in the introduction. Particularly item #3 in the instructions. You have to not only pick a prize, but also say WHY you picked it. (This does not apply if you’re entering for someone else.) If you’ve already posted an entry but did not post your “why”, you may now add that in a separate post to qualify. I do not require an essay. Simply a short statement of what interested you about the prize you picked.
Ah! I completely forgot to mention why I would like the 1940 Mercury with Ob die breaks. Thank you for the reminder Rob. I have always thought the Mercury dime one of our better-looking coins and die breaks on this coin add to it. I don't have any with die breaks so it's the best of both worlds for me.
I'd love the 1/2 real if #19 is drawn because I don't have any slabbed old world silver in my collection yet. Thank you @lordmarcovan for hosting another generous giveaway!
Entry Post I'm liking the 1896 Morgan. My grandson would hold that piece in awe. It would certainly be a centerpiece for his fledgling collection. Thanks, Rob. Your generosity is monumental. Good luck to everyone entered. Enjoy the excitement and anticipation of the drawing.
