I was looking on Amazon.com and found two scales that looked like good deals. The two scales are as follows.

American Weigh Signature Series Black Digital Pocket Scale, 1000 b 0.1 grams cost is $10.35

    or

Weighmax 500g x0.1 Digital Gram Coin Pocket Mini Accurate Gold Scale.

Any suggestions on which one would be best to get? Also should I pickup some Calibration weights for the scale. Amazon has them in 50 - 100 - 500 Grams. This may be a newbe question but I have never purchased a scale before.

Try to find one that measures to the nearest 1/100th gm. The measurement for smaller coins is more accurate. Mine only measures to the nearest 1/10th gm. and I wish I had gotten a better one.

I use a Digiweigh pocket scale. I bought it for around $16 shipped from this seller on ebay: digiweigh-pocket-scales

The scale I bought came with calibration weights included in the box. The seller was easy to work with, has a fair return policy, shipped promptly and the unit was securely packed. You can also acquire them and info about these scales from their web site: DigiWeigh

Some other sites for scales: Old Will Knott scales and more sophisticated: Precision Weighing Balances (search for the MyWeigh scales here or on eBay) and one other: Dillion Precision

For us oldtimers, would that be about the size of a slice of Wonder Bread?
