Hello to all. My name is Jeff and I'm from Georgia. I'm fairly new to the error coin collecting. I've came across 1986 Lincoln cent no mint mark that I've had for awhile. (was saving penny's around the year 2000 in a coffee container and I've have forgotten about them) It looks like there's a possible die crack that runs all the way across the front of the coin and it's also concave It also seem to be some doubling on the reverse. I would like to hear other people's opinions. I've included some pics. Could someone tell me about another camera app that's better for coins let me. Thanks to all in advance.
The line you mention wasn't a die crack. It looks like gas bubble to me. A little concave was normal for that cent to be in that era, as I'd seen alot of those. (Zinc plating issue). Here is one of the example I have. And welcome to CT! Wait, for some others to chime in.
It was struck with a very worn Die. That's what creates the concave look. I agree with the Copper Plating issue.. I would call it a Linear Blister
It appears to be plating blister as stated as far as the reverse it appears to be DDD ( die deterioration doubling) on the E Pluribus Unum. IMO Dave
