Hello fellow CT members, I'm currently looking to purchase a couple of Numismatic reference books, and I'm hoping I can get them for a good price below retail. My Numismatic library is pretty extensive but I believe you cannot have enough books myself, especially regarding coins and paper money. I'm looking for the following and I hope you fellows may be able to assist me. 1. Numismatic Photography By Mark Goodman Second Edition - ISBN: 9781933990040 2. Cherrypickers' Guide Volume 1 Fifth Edition - ISBN: 9780794822859 3. Coin Values "Making The Grade" - ISBN: 9780944945551 4. Encyclopedia of Morgan & Peace Dollars Fourth Edition - ISBN: 9781880731116 5. All of the Red Book Series On Different Types 6. Walter Breen's Complete Encyclopedia of US and Colonial Coins 7. ANA Grading Standards for United States Coins Sixth Edition - ISBN: 9780794819941 These are just a few that I need to add to my library. I purchase just about any Numismatic related publication. If you have any you would like to sell or trade, or if you know where I can find the books above for a good price please PM me. I would greatly appreciate it. I know this post is probably not in the right location so I will also post this add in the wanted to buy section. Sorry guys and ladies. All feedback will be appreciated. Thanks everyone! -vam78
The two hours between 4AM and 6AM are probably not the best hours to expect fast feedback. A good reference library is important when collecting. Are you looking to buy these books from members here or are you looking for references for on line sites? For on line sites I would recommend suppliers Wizard Coin and Jakes Marketplace. Amazon can also help direct you to low cost sellers.
I understand the delayed response, I was just joking around. I'm a Firefighter/EMT and I'm sitting in the station driving myself nuts waiting for our next run. Just a joke that's all. In regards to the numismatic reference books, I'm looking to purchase them online new or used, edited Thank you for this tips. I do buy a lot on Amazon and you're correct, they might be the least expensive. BTW: THIS IS MY 100th POST ON CT! I will be starting a contest within the next few days to mark my 100th post so keep an eye out!
vam - Just so you know - your thread is right on the edge of being within the forum rules, and breaking the forum rules. In fact, one comment did break the rules so I edited it.
Here are a couple of other sources than amazon and some of the wacko's charging hundreds of dollars for books that may current out of print. http://www.hamiltonbook.com/ Up to 80% off list price. they have an ever changing stock picked up a five basic coin books for the price of two. Have been dealing with them for years great service. http://www.alibris.com/ another great one, just bought one of the books on tokens that sells for $200.00 + on Amazon for under $30.00 http://used.addall.com/ This site is a search engine for a large number of used book sites so you can compare world wide or just the states! I have found some of the ones I was looking for a long time on this site. http://www.thriftbooks.com/searchre...ing&searchby=title&intsortby=1&intsortorder=0 Here is another one lots of stuff. http://www.addall.com/ Here is the new books and other stuff site. http://www.powells.com/ Another of the old time brick and mortar that went on line. http://www.bookfinder.com/ Here is another search engine for books. the above should keep you busy and broke between runs! Stay safe!:thumb:
For many of those, especially Breen, you will need to go to numismatic book auctions. There are a few out there. Kol e and Fanning may be the largest.
Thanks for letting me know that mod. What exactly caused the violation? If I know I can make sure I don't do it again. Thank you! Thanks for the comments and links everyone.
If you read the rules it's pretty simple to see. No offers to buy, sell, or trade may be made anyplace except in the advertising sections.
