Looking to make my first NGC submission. I am thinking that amongst the items I want to send in, will be a US Mint Proof set from the 70's. Can I submit that in the original mint holder, or do I need to break the coins out?

Does it work out cheaper to get one of the membership levels that includes 5 submissions versus just getting submission privileges?

Yes, they will crack it out for you and grade the coins. It only works out cheaper for you the first time you send in coins and use the 5 free certificate you get for joining one of the different levels that give you the cert. If you think you will be submitting a lot of coins over the course of a year, the ELITE membership gives you a year long 10% discount on grading fees plus the 5 free when you first join. I upgraded last year and it has saved me some bucks with the 10% discount as I have sent in quite a few coins. As a bonus, the 10% savings on grading fees carries over to PMG, etc, their other grading companies.
