I'm working on a research, and as part of it, I would like to get some literature about Braille on circulation Peruvian coins. I have contacted the Mint of Lima, and the Numismatic Museum of Peru, but I did not get any responses.

Is there anybody who could help me out with some information or literature sources, or knows anybody I could contact?

    Thank you for your help:

Maybe they're still on Halloween vacation along with congress.

You might try contacting CoinWord. I remember a long time ago, around 1999, I think, they reported on a new Peruvian Braille coin that also featured the all seeing eye. Guess it stirred up the New World Order folks.

In any case CoinWorld is much more on top of things than bureaucrats in Peru.

I found the artical. It was in CW 11/24/97. They were referring to two articles published in November in NI Bulletin (Numismatics International) about a Peru secret mark:

"...The secert mark appears within the raised Braille dots on low denomination coins of Peru struck between 1991 and 1993.

It is a stylized eye within a triangle, usually associated with freemasonary."

The date of the CW article really is 11/24/97

I just realised that today is also 11/24. Those Masons are at it again. :p

Thank you for your response and detailed information. I have not come across these resources before, and it will definitely get me started. I have already started asking around for the referenced articles.
