Hi all i figured i would ask. I am looking for a reputable coing appraiser in the WV area. It is hard to find one that won't low ball the prices.

please IM me if anyone knows of someone.

Go to this page - Dealer Directory - do a search and find one in your area.

That said, what you think is a low ball offer probably isn't. Dealers will only offer about 80% of retail value at best. That's pretty standard and is not a low ball offer.

Now if somebody offers you 60% - that would be a low ball offer.

But you also have to be pretty sure about your own grading. What you think the coin may grade and what they think the coin may grade are quite often entirely different things.

And you cannot use realized prices on ebay as a price guide to establish what you think the coins are worth.

If you are just wanting an appraisel you should get close to retail.

If you are just wanting an appraisel you should get close to retail. If for insurence purposes you will be charged a fee - there is no reason for a dealer to low-ball you if you make it clear want you are wanting.
