I'm looking for a Maximinus Thrax - RIC IV, Part ii, 12 "late style". It's a fairly common coin/type. Maximinus Thrax coins typically have 3 noticeable obverse portraits; the "early style"; "big/heavy chin style"; and "late style". I'm looking for the "late style". I'm also looking for a similar condition to the coins shown (VF or better). If you see one for sale or auction let me know. See information and samples below: Reign: Maximinus Thrax Denomination: AR Denarius Mint: Rome (235 – 236 AD) Obverse: IMP MAXIMINVS PIVS AVG, Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right Reverse: PAX AVGVSTI, Pax, draped, standing left, holding branch in right hand and transverse sceptre in left hand References: RIC IV, Part ii, 12 "Early Style" recognized by young appearance and bump on nose. These inscriptions and reverse figure but with "late style" portrait "Big/Heavy Chin Style" recognized by slightly older appearance, no bump on nose and slightly extended chin. These inscriptions and reverse figure but with "late style" portrait Here is a sample of the "late style" portrait. Older, fatter appearance; straight nose, and very pronounced chin. I'm looking for this portrait on the coin type shown above.
