    Greetings,

A follow up question: On the US type set, anyone know about how much it will cost to fill the pre-1900 coin types that go in the Dansco? All of our coins are pulled from circulation or bargain bins so I am not trying to get UNC's or anything.

    Thanks to all!

Don't have an album to give up, but some of the pre-1900 types can be pricey in any condition (assuming you want problem free examples). For example, you'll like have to spend over $100 each for a Classic Head Large Cent (1808-1814) that doesn't have corrosion or other issues, even if pretty worn down and for a Seated Dollar. Trade Dollars can also be a bit pricey, but make sure you're buying one from a dealer you trust or buying a lower grade certified example since there are so many fakes of these. Twenty cent pieces in low grades will also be over $50 each I think. And if you decided to add the gold page to the type set, then you're looking at around $5000 to complete just that part of the set, just based on gold melt prices. It's a fun set to work on though, regardless of the grade.

Try going to one of your local coin shops, one that buys a lot of coin collections, and ask if they have any used ones. People bring tons of collections into my local shop and they have about 100 Danscos laying around. They usually will give me a used Dansco for 8 bucks.
