clearing junk out of my garage this weekend. box of kids' toys with 5 years of dust covering them. was gonna take entire box to Goodwill. When I picked up the box, I heard a little jingle. In the bottom of the box was approximately $1 in change....including this item. Ugly, but FREE!! Made my day!!
Nice find. As a kid, I used to get them in the change. Wish I saved more of them but most had the dates worn off.
1929 SLQ. it just so happens that my mama was born in 1929, and will celebrate her 86th birthday on July 1st. This coin was in a little pouch of chlorine-eroded coins my kids would toss into the deep end of the pool, then dive and retrieve. I had no idea an SLQ was in the mix. Mama will love this gift!
