I live in the Los Angeles area and was planning on attending the Long Beach coin show when I realized there was a major change this year where PCGS changed it from three times a year t only having it once. I was trying to find information about when and if the 2026 event will be held and I can’t find confirmation. Does anyone know? I’m also new to coin collecting and excited at the chance at going. However, it appears the first day is typically on a Thursday from what I can tell and I’d likely have to miss work to go on the first day. How critical is it to go on day 1 to find a specific Morgan dollar I’m looking for like an 1885-CC in PL or DPML? My other priority is getting it at a good price which I think might be harder on the first day as a dealer might wait till later in the show to do that. I also recently learned the story of the Kentucky Hoard found in the last few years with the 700 or so gold coins that were sold. It looks like it’s possible one of the smaller $1 coins are more attainable price wise but I can’t find a single one for sale. If I were also interested or looking for one of these coins would I have to go on day 1 or they easily found enough that it’s not that urgent to go day 1?
