Just wondering if anyone knew how to bid on London Ancient Coin auctions. When I go to there website I do not see any auction listings. Thanks!

Looks like they are hosted off site, but you can also go through sixbid.com if you are registered there.

Thanks, I had placed some bids via sixbid, but the deamoneta site has the live auction. Looks like I won some lots! Curious how much shipping will be and how long it will take.

I haven't bought anything from their auctions but I have previously purchased an RR bronze from them via Vcoins. In that case, shipping was £10 for a £40 item and it took about 10 days to arrive after they shipped it.

There were lot of books I would have liked to bid on, but just cant justify the international shipping.

Same here. I saw some books I would like but the international shipping kept me from bidding.

Yeah, that's what I bought, lots of books. I am a bit concerned with shipping, but I just can't find the Banti Grandi Bronzi Imperiali anywhere else... Hopefully I don't get killed on shipping.

I've bought books from them and their shipping time has been quite good. I can't speak to cost...it is what it is if you need it.

Carausius Brother, can you spare a sestertius?

I appear to be the winning bidder for Banti Imperial (the green set), vol. 2. That gives me vols 1-3, which may be all I need in addition to my red Republic set. I haven't bought anything from LAC in some time, but I recall their shipping was prompt and reasonable.

Good for you! I've got the full set and the Imperial section I don't need takes up nearly 2 feet of shelf space I don't have!

I'd suggest parting-out the volumes you don't use, but there's no shortage of loose Banti Imperial volumes on the market and they sell pretty cheaply. Maybe a self-storage locker for your overflow?

Or moving one of my kids out to college and having a real man room for a freakin' change in my adult existence! :rage:

Oh, that sounded sort of angry...

I git it. Went through 6 daughters, several through college... All grown up, several married, and I can have my own man-space again!

I have my own "man room". It was nice for a while. Then my wife hung a picture here, a picture there, a knickknack or two, and presto it's a man room with a woman's flair. Or, better worded, it's just another room in the house.

Ditto. It started as "my office" but now is just called "the office". My book shelves have been gradually invaded by books about gardening, successful women and Limoges china. Don't even get me started on "my" side of the closet...

LOL, My wife tried that: I just moved her "schtuff" out, declared this is my man-office, and BARKED at her. LOL. It was the only way to control such rude behavior! :D Then, I took Blue for a walk... RR C Mamilius 82 BCE AR Den Serrate Mercury Ulysses Dog Argos Sear 282 Craw 362-1 Obv-Rev.jpg

LOL, yeah, surprisingly she is cool with it. She understands(???) my mental make-up... So she knows it is best to give me my space in there... I mean, having 3 female dogs, a wife, 6 girls, my mo-in-law living with us, and her female CAT... I may just have to act like a MALE dog and use the corners around the house to mark my territory! :D
