Stack's is a HUGE auction house. I'd strongly advise you to pick up a copy of The Coin Collector's Survival Manual and read, at the absolute least, chapters 15 and 16. Unless this collection is fairly impressive, there is apt to be a lot of it that would not do well at auction. If you have any questions, just post them here and/or PM me. I'm not the most knowledgable, but I'd be happy to help if I can.

Howdy riggsjr - Welcome to the Forum !!

What Fish said is correct, where or how you would sell a collection depends a great deal on the collection itself. Stacks is a very reputable company, but they typically only deal with scarce or rare coins of high value and likely would not even be interested in common date collections.

If you can, please post a list and/or pics of the coins in the collection so that we can be of more help to you.
