looks like a Spanish 2 reales silver coin minted in Mexico?? under Carlos (Charles) III.He was king from 1759-1788.
Because of the wear and especially the hole,it is only worth a few dollars.I'd hang onto it if I were you, great conversation piece and an interesting bit of history.

This is not Mexican, but Guatemalan, minted in Guatemala City. In my 1982 catalog it is listed as $80 in this condition without the hole in it. It is a rare piece and a nice find, much less common than the Mexican coin. The G mintmark to the right of the date is the key to identification.

i was hoping that hole was supposed to be there:( i had seen a few others that where different coins all together but had holes in them. anyways, i just inhereted my grandfathers coin collection and i guess it is a good start to a collection of my own, a few questions. where is a good place to buy and sell old coins like the ones i have?
    i have about 80 coins.
one that i really like is a 1786 vermontensium. in really good condition! how much is it worth?
