I only have seven more Buffalo Nickels until I'm finished, and that will be the end of any big sets for me. I'm having trouble finding a website that has a total listing of commemerative silver dollars. What I'm thinking about doing is commemerative silver dollars that I like. I have a Bowers' book, but I would like a simple litle list so to make notes from. Any help appreciated.
If you don't have a Red Book, take a pencil and a sheet of paper to your local public library and use theirs. Commermorative coins begin on page 232 of my 2003 Ed. They should be somewhere in that same vicinity in the current edition.
i dont have them all, yet, but check out this page i have most of the modern commems listed as for books... the red book has them, krauses standard catalog of world coins lists them ... they are in almost any book on US coins.
Larry, Daggerjon's web site is as good as they come for comm silver dollars. Unfortuantely, there is very little out there about modern comms silver dollars.
I'm not ready to dig deep enough for the L Dollar, although I sure would like to have one. I have a tendency to like the early commemerative half dollars and the modern silver dollars. As for the silver dollars I was also thinking about collecting only those in original packaging and only in proof. That is what I wanted to get a list for is to make some notes. You know bu the book and do the research first You are right Joe, the info on the dollars appears to be a little sketchy. You look at three different websites and each will be different. The early halves a lot of good web info easily found.
I agree I wont be foraying into the world of Early commems too deep. They get out of my price range all to fast! I might pick up the more common ones, likei need to post my columbian exo and booker half commems, but thats about it
