I've been listing more and more on eBay but can't find the option to add zoom to my pictures. The images I'm uploading are very large 3000x2000 pixels but the zoom option isn't added to the images upon uploading them to eBay, they're auto resized to 500x500 which doesn't give my bidders much assurance. Is there something I'm missing?
Did you try checking both boxes for (large picture gallary) on the 2nd page after the first submission?
Turns out it only allows you to do it if you list advanced. Which I typically never do. I almost always list simple. You have to list advanced. It's a good option as it lets you list 6 pictures for $.75 ... Unless it's on top of the $.15 per picture which would royaly suck.
Host the pictures elsewhere and embed them into the auction. No fees, and you can have huge pictures, zoom, etc.
Yep, listen to rlspears host your pictures elsewhere and embed them. you can have as many pictures as you want and no fees. And you can have big pictures. Nothing frustrates me more on ebay than the fact that 90% or more of the auction now have no descriptions other than the small standard ebay pictures and enlarge does not enlarge them. Nothing is better than large clear pictures and most auctions no longer have them.
I always prefer to have the pictures be eBay hosted, not hosted offsite. Mainly because I don't want the lister posting pictures of a different coin as a 'sample.' I'd prefer to pay the $.75 and upload 6 pics because I'm paranoid.
I used to imbed my pictures in my descriptions and really liked how it worked, but it added lots of time and frustration when I did lots of listings. Photo bucket would crash uploading etc. Now with a store subscription the picture pack is free and I have been using that. But turbo lister only has the basic uploader, so you have to upload pictures after listing is live to get the zoom and enlarge.
I actually use both the E-Bay upload an post an embedded photo in my description. If I didn't have a store, I would probably use more embedded photos. However, I have always carried a dissenting opinion about coin photos. While I agree that many E-Bay sellers list only slab photos which do not allow the potential buyer to evaluate the surfaces of the coin, listing oversized cropped photos of a coin will exaggerate the flaws on the coin's surfaces and lead buyers to start questioning the assigned grade. I use 700x700 pixels for large coins (Half Dollars and larger) and 500x500 pixels for the smaller coins.
It is a shame there is lack of competition in auction space i think there is much room for improvement when it comes price structure for auction listings'.
