LINE ACROSS PENNY FRONT

    Hi everyone, this is more than likely nothing special, but I found this 1983 penny
    with a line across the front.The line is not indented, like if someone would
    have hit it with a knife, the line actually bulges out.
    Thanks ahead of time for any advise!

    It does seem to go underneath Liberty which means it's on the die. Looks deliberate though, not a crack. Someone else will chime in with more info.

    Then, why is it on top of Lincoln? It's odd for sure. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that it is one of those crappy Zincoln's.

    That's a good question. Maybe it's an illusion that it goes under liberty.

    That has got to be a die scratch, but I have not a clue what/how it was made.

    linear plating blister would be my guess...
