Has Abe's religious beliefs and ways finally been revealed? :secret:

    Quote through Wiki:
It was the Declaration of Independence, rather than the Bible, that Lincoln most relied on to oppose any further territorial expansion of slavery. He saw the Declaration as more than a political document. To him, as well as to many abolitionists and other antislavery leaders, it was, foremost, a moral document that had forever determined valuable principles for the future shaping of the nation.

Through the Penny Paparazzi picture maybe you can make a determination. :goofer:

Maybe the Kippah Cap Penny :hatch:

Actually it was a little more than the Declaration of Independence..
It is said that Lincoln borrowed a copy of the "Revised Statutes of Indiana" from a local constable, in this work it contained the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Northwest Ordinance of 1787..these were the documents that became the foundation of his philosophical and political thoughts.

In the Book, Team of Rivals it is stated that he once borrowed Parson's Weem's "Life of George Washington" form Josha Crawford a very well to do farmer. Upon retiring for the night Lincoln had placed the book on a makeshift shelf between the cabin logs..during a rainstorm that night the book became soiled and the covers warped significantly.
Lincoln went to Crawfords hose to explain what happened and offered to work off the damages to the book, Crawford was said to levy a 2 full day work reimbursement in which Abe thought it was unfair, however, he toiled in the farmers fields and paid his debt.

He also was a man of little if any faith in the afterlife..death to him was final, the end of a being.

It was my understanding that his religious views are debated. It is said he was quite private about his beliefs in general and thus nobody can really say anything for certain about his faith (one way or the other).
