    Alright guys.
First off: Congratulations to RLM for winning the first round of my hurricane contest and Parkqtrs for the second round. (Speaking of which, Parkqtrs: if you see this, PM me your address so I can mail your prize :) )
As we transition from tropics to winter-weather, I would like to remind you all to make sure you have plenty of salt in your garage and gas in your heater. And check your smoke detectors if you haven't already. Now to the fun stuff.
This is my official contest for the winter 2010-2011. The contest will run from 11/12/10 until 3/31/11. You are to guess how much snow will fall in the following nine cities and add a 10th city of your choice. I would like to ask you to keep the 10th city fairly major (not nowheresville, montana) so I can find accurate snowfall data. You will be able to score a total of 100 points (10 per city) and the breakdown is like this:

    Snowfall
    Within .2"=10 points
    Within .5"=8 points
    Within 1"=6 points
    Within 2"+= 4 points
    More than that= 2 points

    Sound familliar? lol
I will figure out a prize sometime but since I have until March I will try to find something good.
    The cities are as follows:

    Atlanta, GA
    Birmingham, AL
    New York, NY
    Flagstaff, AZ
    Oklahoma City, OK
    Dallas, TX
    Fairbanks, AK(?)
    Tampa, FL
Cleveland, GA (my hometown :D )
    10th city of your choice.
Bonus city: Tug Hill, New York (those who guessed already may edit their post).
ALL GUESSES DUE BY 12/31/10. NO POST EDITING.

    Best of luck!

You are missing one important criteria for your contest - just when do I have to have my guesses submitted? Is 4/1/11 acceptable?

Nope. They need to be submitted by 12/31/10. Rules edited. Thanks a lot! :)

I dare you (or anyone else) to add Tug Hill. I know it is similar to Nowheresville, Montana with one major difference - my guess is that they will have more snow than all the rest put together. In 1977, they only had 477". I doubt they even worry about tenths of an inch snows.

    In response to RLM's challenge,
Bonus City is Tug Hill, New York.
    Go for it.
    My guess: 415"

One minor correction - Tug Hill is in New York at the east end of Lake Ontario. Another trivia; They once had 118" in 24 hours. That would have been the world record, but they measured it wrong - i.e. measured it too often. Go figure.

Tug Hill? Named cause they have to tug the cars off the hill?

Putting "trace" is an acceptable answer. You don't have to put (as coinman did) .001" or something similar. A trace is just fine. :)

I tell you what, I shouldn't be wearing shorts in November.....
Maybe a pattern shift for some cold weather here in the south with some wintry precip. Its still in the works though. This could turn out to be a very, very, very interesting and unpredictable winter.
