Ed, I dare say you've missed the boat on these as they've all been sold out. However, there always is the aftermarket. Hopefully you'll score one at a reasonable price....
I lucked out and ordered three hours after it was available. I may have made a mistake by not ordering both the uncirculated and the proof versions, but I'm glad I ordered one of them. I would check out ebay to see what they are selling for, and watch ads, coin shops, and shows for reasonable deals on them. Good luck!!!
You ain't gona believe this, I just looked in my safe and there it is. I've had it for some time. I thought it was a half dollar that I ordered. It was the dollar..I checked ebay and realized I had it. I don't remember what I paid for it from the mint, but on ebay they are going for about $50-$75.
You are definately NOT the only one to do this. Good thing you caught it befor eyou went and purchased another one! I've done both a couple of times. There's nothing like opening that album, and getting ready to fill another hole... that's already occupied!!!
