A collector just emailed saying he heard the final Lincoln Presidency mintages were out and they were the same as reported as of November at 129,600,000 for the P's and 198,000,000 for the D's. Anyone have confirmation on these numbers?
Yes -- but people panic when they don't see them in circulation. The dealer in Coinchatradio was just talking about how he couldn't get his hands on any LP4 rolls . . . so, the price might be high for a while before it becomes cheap. For example: I think I noticed (last time I checked) that 2009-P dimes are going for about the same price as 2009-S Proofs. It won't always be that way, but who would have though it'd last this long . . . .
I hear what you're saying about price trends and how the price tends to initially over shoot the true value due to speculation. But, if that's the actual mintage, that is a darn low number for a modern lincoln cent and it's going to stand out in "The Red Book", as are all of the 2009 mintages. Kinda nice to see some circulation coins worth putting a few away.
Rare? No. Scarce? Probably. In demand? Definitely. Unbelievably low mintage for a modern cent? Definitely
Hey Greeny, check out the post titled, Satin Finish Coins Need Love Too. Sounds like a good way to get them recognized.
Patience, young grasshopper. I think the point is that if that link doesn't have the info, then maybe nobody does yet...
They still have the 2 roll sets for 8.95. they are probably more than willing to sell you a few thousand rolls of the rarity. Lack
