I remember reading a few years back that writer Scott Travers spent a 1909 S VDB Lincoln to promote a new book. I'm not one to keep up on every bit of coin news, but I would have thought if someone had found it and reported it to the community it would have been relatively big news and I would have heard. Has it been reported found yet?

I'd have to assume it's been found, and perhaps not known. Many people set wheat cents aside, maybe in an old jar or coffee can and never pay any attention to the dates, unless they happen to be a collector. I have to wonder how many other other 09 S's are sitting annonymously in cans in hall closets.

i think also a few years ago a famous guy from one of the coin grading sites spent a 1908S indian head cent, and some other rare coins. i'd like to go to where he spent those and buy some rolls at the banks around there!
