Some time ago I won a large lot of rolled Lincolns of many different years and mints. This coin is one of an entire roll which had this 'toning'. To the best of my knowledge the roll had not been opened previous to my receiving it. jeankay
Yes BQ, Sure is a grease filled die. About half of the coins have this problem. I am curious if the coins will continue to tone like this. Guess I have to wait and find out. jeankay
You are a funny boy Daniel. It sort of reminds me of my Marine nieces, except you aren't likely to see them wearing long dresses. Thanks for the reply. jeankay
almost has a textile look to the obverse, the way Morgans sometimes tone and you can see the cloth impressions from resting against the bag during storage.
Thanks Phoenix. Even though I was quite disappointed at the roll being pawned of on me in that large order, I have learned to enjoy all the colors the coins seem to be gaining, and there are no two alike. jeankay
Hey AJ, How's things? I couldn't figure out what the striping came from until after you mentioned cloth bags. Of course, that must be it! Thank you. Jean
