I see it have the same coins going for good money but the ones I have haven't been graded or from proof sets. Kinda takes the fun hearing everything is face value.. lol.. So I'm asking a serious question?? Do you need to take a coin to someone to get graded before it has any value???

yea, but your coins are circulated pretty long and hard...so find some good ones.

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

Your pennies are not proof, they are business strikes.
The cost of getting your pennies graded is far more than they'd ever be worth.

Not proofs. Worth 1 cent each.

No! It has to have value before you send it to be graded. Grading is like getting a certification that the coin has value, that all.

Coins have a value depending on their scarcity and condition. The scarcity is judged by the mintage and by how many have survived till now. Condition can be judged by someone who has developed that skill. Grading by what we call TPG (third party graders) is not necessary, but it gives some validity to the grade. If you are not in the USA, the cents might have more value because they are not common.
