    inmperfectus die... it wanted cleaned to make the b a solid B so it came oout as you see it a mint error

    Steve, this was not caused by a grease-filled die. As Larry suggested, it is a die chip. The post on the die which forms the center of the letter has broken off and allowed the metal to flow into the void.

    Thanks Chris. I take it they're pretty common and do not add much value to the coin. This is the third one in a short time period. I found one today in the date of a 1(95)7 D lincoln cent.
