Is it true the lincoln cent might no longer be? I thought that the mint would make a new design in '09? Am I wrong?

There is and always will be rumors that the cent is being discontinued, especially with the price of copper and zinc.
And, I have heard the same stories about the redesign for the 100th anniversary of the cent, that it'll be redesigned for 2009.
Still waiting to hear, but they do have two years to do it.
In the interim, finish your sets, remember what happened to quarters after they changed the designs to the states quarters, and the 1932 D & S prices went nuts! Along with many other dates.
The same will probably happen to the older Linc's, especially better dates. Even tho the key dates have already doubled and tripled in the last couple of years.

The new designs for the reverse on '09 IS going to happen as the law has already been signed.
There is currently legislation that was introduced by an AZ lawmaker named Kolbe to discontinue the cent. No action has yet been taken on the bill. It would not affect the new 2009 designs though.
