So I wasn't able to get the lp1 rolls through the mint because the order was cancelled. Anyone know of a reputable place to get the lp1 online for realistic prices? I'm looking for rolls. Also looking for the lincoln silver commemorative coins.

If you want realistic prices I would suggest you wait a little while. I expect that once the rush dies down for these coins the rolls will become quite affordable. Right now there is still a huge hoarding demand going on. Once the coins become common in circulation (and they will), I expect the mint rolls will be a bit easier to come by.

He's talking about the Mint LP1 set.

Personally, I don't think it's going to "die down". There was a limited number of sets made and they sold out. I think thery're always going to be expensive because of that. I don't know of any retail place that has them....did you try googling?

Look at the 2003 mint roll nickels. They were in the $50 to $70 range for a few years and now they are $10 to $15. They are a pretty good comparison.

Waiting may be good advice. I missed out on the Lewis & Clark Coin & Currency set when the Mint sold out. Two years later, I picked one up on eBay for less than issue price. But, anyone who tells you that they can forecast the coin market with anything near 100% certainty is not credible, IMHO.

Since the LP1 if the first part of a 4 series and still have 2 remaining to be released, it may take it a little while to come down but I think it will also. Just my opinion but I think there may always be a small premium attached to the first release.

The mintage numbers on LP1 were considerably lower (~96,000) than LP2 (200,000+). US Mint indicates that LP3 and LP4 mintage will be at least as high as LP2. So even if overall prices decline (which I think they will), LP1 will always be costlier to acquire than the later sets.

True, but pennies do have a larger following, and the mintage was low for those sets. Yeah, eventually they'll come down though.
