Lincoln 1988 cent

    image.jpeg Hi there,:happy:I've collected lots of 1 cents over a number of weeksI've come across this 1988 one it stood out more with its colour could it be rare ?

    The dark color is normal. Different factors affect Copper. You can have a mix of colors also. If a chemical is spilled on the Cent it will do that.

    If you ever look at graded Copper or Copper plated Zinc Cents they are assigned a color depending on the Hue. There is Red, Red Brown and Brown

    Red is not really Red but a bright golden color :wacky:

    Nope, they sometimes turn like that. Tell you what, you should have seen the cents we were saving when we first started searching cents. You don't know how many strange cents are out there until you really get into it. As you go along, you'll see, you'll end up spending many of the ones you saved. We did, lol. You live and learn.

    Hi Eddie, I've come across a 1982 cent it weighs 2.5 could this be a valuable coin ? Thanks:happy:

    2.5g is the normal weight for a Zincoln. The copper ones weigh 3.1g.
