Limes denarius

    This was sold as a limes denarius, but is it a modern fake ?
    Opinions please !

    Septimius Severus Æ Limes Denarius. Rome, AD 204.
    SEVERVS PIVS AVG, laureate head to right
    COS III LVDOS SAECVL FEC, Liber standing to right, holding cup and thyrsus, facing Hercules standing to left, holding club and lion skin; leopard standing to right below Liber.
    RIC IV 257; BMCRE 315; RSC 109.
    3.05g, 20mm, 6h.
    Good Very Fine.

    Really a high relief for a limes denarius!

    I don't think we can tell from the photo. In both cases you would expect surface issues. Have you tried finding out anything about the "Z.P." collection?
