A 1927-S at that. I believe that is the key date as less than 400,000 were minted. She’s worn but maybe that’s why it was in a bag of junk coins that was I searched by me until a few days ago. Hooray for me.
I remember as a youngster getting those in change, not too often but they were always a surprise for me, and now great memories!
I got them in change quite often as a youngster. I have all but 8 in the set. All found in change or traded for with friends at the time. That is a nice 27 S.
They still circulated in the early sixties. I left many of them with my fingerprints on them. And yes, they would buy a lot of penny candy. Fun times back then.
What I noticed on ebay is that this date, being such a low mintage, doesn't fetch much of a premium unless it is in a high grade condition.
The price does go up in low grades and it goes up a lot more in higher grades. But this date shouldn’t be in junk silver.
