Everyone knows I am a sap for any seated Liberty piece. That’s where my heart and soul resides in the collecting world….. A while back @dwhiz posted about Christian Gobrecht (seated designer) and made reference to the Liberty Seated Collectors Club. I researched and felt like I should join up… Just received my first club publication and it’s a seated coin lovers delight… And they do a centerfold of the loveliest seated Liberty ladies you would ever want to see. Been a long time since I was engrossed in a centerfold model….
LSCC also published three books ( maybe more since then) that were a compilations of the Gobrecht Journal up to that time.
Tsk, tsk. Hey, aren't you supposed to be focusing on your Roman coin homework right now, Randy? But OK... I will ask you this... where do you suppose that Seated Liberty design likely originated, hmm? .
Really?!?!? Edit…. And to be fair, I joined this outfit three months ago. I had slap forgotten about it!
Cool. As you know I have Metal Detected these 5 fabulous Seated Liberty Coins. And this Seated Dime that was gifted to my by my late cousin
Awesome. You’ve already outdone me on your cumulative overall silver count. Now you only need one more to catch up with my all-time Seated total. I dug only six Seated coins during my 1992-2013 detecting career: 2 half dimes: a dateless pre-1860 and an 1854 (both holed) 3 dimes: 1839 (nice), 1862, 1876-S 1 quarter: 1855 (My buddy dug the half. Nobody I know has dug a Seated dollar.) Before long, you’ll have left me far behind. And I say you’re due to find a Capped Bust coin before too long. I only dug one of those: a holed 1829 half dime.
Can't rightly blame @Randy Abercrombie for his transgression, @lordmarcovan . I too would sooner focus on the more buxom Miss Liberty above than the boney one below . . .
