I've heard that the Liberty dollar folks are introducing a $1 copper liberty dollar, does anyone know of a website with a screen shot of it, and what do y'all think of this liberty dollar thing anyway.

they are NOT illegal and not a scam ... anyone willing to accept them as payment makes them fully legal to use!!!! Aidan, if you read the whole page, you would have noticed the suit filed by the Liberty Dollar makers argueing their use is not in violation ofthe law. I agree that it is not (no i dont have, nor will i use them) and since they are still in use - this means the Govt has not forced them to stop distribution or use (or at least not tried yet - the fight still goes on i am assuming)....

Daggarjon,Roy has looked into this & has posted in previous threads in relation to this that they ARE illegal under the U.S. penal code.

You should scroll down to the bottom of that article & be in for a shock.

If the U.S. Mint & the Treasury say that they're illegal to use, then using them is a federal offence that will land you in the slammer.

    Aidan.

Take this discussion of fantasy coinage being proposed for illegal use as part of a political group's agenda to the Politics, Religion and World Events forum where it belongs. This is the second such thread in less than a week, and whether you wish to promote their political view or disagree with their political view, or just comment on their political view, please do it in the correct forum.
