Has anyone ever left a toned coin out only to have the wife or kid surprise you by cleaning that sucker up? And if the answer is yes, how much time did you get?
Closest I've seen to that is a woman that cleaned out her boss' well seasoned coffee mug. Boy the stuff really hit the fan over that one!

There are Chiefs in the Navy who won't leave their coffee mugs behind for that reason. They'll take it with them when they get off watch. "They're plotting to scub my coffee mug, I know they are..."
Yup. The owner of the mug in question was an Sergeant First Class (E7 ) in the Army, and the culprit was a brown nosing Specialist (E4). What's funny to me is she probably would have received a milder scolding had she burned down the building (with his mug in it) instead of cleaning his mug.
We had an E6 on our Med cruise who thought he'd be retiring in eight weeks. But five years earlier he went into rehab for 8 month. He didn't know, or didn't remember, his time in service stopped during rehab. The happy news must have made him even more absent minded. He forgot to take his coffee mug with him when he got off watch. "Oh, my, my what do we have here..."
Well, if my kids did it, they'd be in for a long, torturous grounding. If my wife did it, I'd say, "Aw, thank you honey. You're so considerate."
