I've come across many intelligent collectors with extraordinary coins since joining CT back in June, in this thread you'll be showing off those beautiful coins year by year. I'll start with a coin dated 2016. The next poster posts one of their coins dated 2015, next poster 2014, etc. etc. etc. Lets see how far back we can go. I'll start it out with... a standard 2016 dime
I'll watch & jump in when I can. I have a variety. Can take as far back as 450 BC. Have a lot of moderns but few photographed
Athens you say. Well it's not Athens but it is Athena or Heracklea 1 of the 2. I'm already asleep but my eyes are still open.
@Smojo I see your Roman denarius and raise youa Kyzikos hemiobol. Circa 450 BCE We can keep going, but I warn you, I'm covered as far back as 650 BCE. It don't get any older as far as true coins are concerned, though I hear Chinese art coins can go back as far as 1700 BCE. Ps: Nice coin. Can you show off the reverse?
Yes, because for some of us our youngest coin could not be posted until post #1,300 or something like that, which means we'll never get there. Feel free to post a 2013 or 2014 Dont let us old timers get in the way of those shinny new coins.
Well I'm tempted to post some of the coins I used to collect just because they're so much purtier than those things you ancient guys collect. And no where near so dang old either But I'll be nice, this time
Nice @Sallent., I've been looking for a nice but within budget. JA has 1 in his auction comparable to yours. Usually see crappy ones going for $20 to $50. Want a nice one for under $60 -$70.
The nice ones are not cheap. I paid $125 for mine, and you are going to have to pay around the same for that kind of quality. JAs is better, so I'd expect the auction could go as high as $150
I'll give this a whirl. 2015 ASE proof. If we stick to Mad Stax's rule, every type of collector can participate.
