So, the main question is, how much do you search normally? I'll keep it at per week.

When I had access I was searching 2 boxes of quarters per week that I had arranged with my bank, and then whatever else I could collect on my travels to and from work or on runs, as I passed random banks that I don't have an account with and stop and ask.
I even had a method so no stammering while asking, intent was always $60 in coin but I'd take what I could get. roughly 2-3 random bank stops a day.
    3 rolls quarters
    3 rolls dimes
    5 rolls nickels
    10 rolls cents
if I could only get $20, I'd ask for 2 rolls quarters (for laundry) and be on my way.
I could build up in a week a box of quarters and a box of dimes with roughly 16 stops, a box and a half of nickels, and just over 3 boxes of cents.

so that was per week, I'd dump on a friday after work when the dump bank was open a bit later. Now I know some of you focus on one thing be it quarters, nickels dimes, cents or halves, which is just fine. some of you buy older date rolls, or bulk silver to search for better dates or errors, there's many methods that people use to coin roll hunt.

But I amcurious, and I'm sure some other roll hunters here are too, especially the novices, are really curious how often is it being done and to what extent.
I'd put myself in the around 10 box a week category when I was doing it, random denominations.... moderate successes, I did make worthwhile finds each week.

To keep it anonymous I will make this a poll, comment if you'd like to share more detail or have a question, but as roll hunters, it's sort of an addiction, and there is some level of secrecy to it (my family doesn't "get it" at all, so I keep it to myself for instance rather than discuss my crazy hobby)

you can select 2 choices, please select one from Poll1, and one from Poll2 if you participate.

Trying to gauge the frequency and what is searched, without prying too deeply into individual people, unless of course you want to talk and share. If so feel free.

    Thanks.

    I do 6 boxes a week:
    2 cents
    2 quarters
    2 halves

I've ranged from 2 boxes to 14 boxes. 6 seems a good middle ground.

None. I needs start searching for silver dimes again. I usually get 1 $250 box. I was averaging 1-2 a box back about 3 years ago.

I've been mostly searching quarters since the "W" quarters came out. I have a full box of quarters waiting but also have about $200 I keep rotating through my bank! Even though I'm retired, I still don't search a full box of anything in a week! Just can't find the time!

Never really found anything special in quarters besides a dozen W's and some minor errors.I love finding silver though searching dimes and nickels just found this one recently,it makes my week. IMG_20220131_171331.jpg IMG_20220131_171337.jpg

it's interesting how the poll is breaking down, you'd think by coin roll hunting find posts the majority wouldn't be in the "less than a box a week" category... hmmo_O

I don't roll hunt so I would pick the "less than a box a week", but I don't think you want non-roll-hunters to respond. I didn't respond.

    Many.
Sometimes I'm gathering rolls for a week or two or more.
Sometimes I'm only searching rolls for weeks.
Sometimes I'm picking up and searching rolls daily.
I can't be any vaguer than that :smug:

I am new to coin collecting( only 3 years). I like to coin roll hunt and mainly do quarters(silver and Ws) and pennies(wheats). Most of the time my banks require me to trade coins I have searched for the coins they have. Some weeks I might search 3 or 4 boxes others none.
Since the 25th of January to February 2 I have done a thousand in quarters(1 W) and 100 dollars in pennies(59 wheats).

When I CRHed, I would do one box of nickels and a box of cents every 2 weeks. But I variety and error coin hunted, so I would go slower than most folks. This way my bank had time to get rid of my dumped change. Lately, I just search my Pocket Change. I make about $2 of change a day, so the findings are slow but occassional.
