    FUNDAMENTALS OF DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY
    October 24-25 • Radisson Hotel Manchester
    700 Elm Street • Manchester, NH
    Learn the basics of numismatic photography, from shooting the image to preparing it for the web, presentations or publication using Adobe Photoshop. This two-day seminar is hands-on so bring your own "macro-capable" cameras and examples of several coins [​IMG]you would like to photograph. Although not required, students are encouraged to bring their own laptops and software.
    Instructor: Douglas Mudd, Curator, Edward C. Rochette Money Museum
    Time: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Oct. 24-25
    Tuition: $294 for ANA and New England Numismatic Association (NENA) members; $394 for non-members. ANA Basic Membership (www.money.org) is $28.00, NENA Membership (www.nenacoin.org) is $12.50.
    Cancellation Policy: If you cancel your registration, you must do so at least 21 days prior to the start of the seminar in order to avoid a $100 cancellation fee. In the event a seminar is cancelled by the ANA, you will be notified prior to the scheduled start date, and you will receive a full refund.

    Wow, that sounds good.
    Is that too late in the year for the trees, i.e., would they already have turned color and dropped their leaves?
    I'd bring the wife along for that (but not the class).
    Actually she might want to come along anyway.

    I'm wondering if they will teach anything that is not in Mark Goodman's coin photography book?

    I'm thinking $200-$300. I've asked around and came up with these suggestions:
    Nikon L100.
    Canon Powershot SX 110 IS and A 570 IS
    GE A1230 (untested)

    When I see a good photo on ebay I'll ask the owner what their using. Most will answer something more expensive than my range. Like a D70 (forgot the make).

    The GE is from a friend who says it'll do most everything but he's not a coin photographer. I'll ask him to take some close up shots and email them to me.
