To those of you living in Florida, here's hoping that y'all made it through this latest hurricane safe and sound.

Tradernick, how did Orlando fare? We're heading to Disney next week and Joe is hoping it's still there :) . Also, we have a free day that I was hoping to use to stop by your shop and meet you if you'll be around. Please PM me so I can find out where you are and get directions.

    Thanks!

Disney is fine, however many of the signs on I-4 are blown down or snapped in half. You have to REALLY pay attention to where you are going since the 3rd storm (Jeanne) passed through town. Frankly, I am soooooo spent from these storms.

I evacuated to Orlando from the East Coast three times and enough is enough! If people are "short" as you make your trip, please keep in mind that we are at nerve's end with storms, insurance companies, no electricity, etc.

Completely understandable. I'm glad to hear that you made it through the storms safely, but sorry for the stress that comes with the aftermath. Joe will be relieved to hear that Mickey is still there waiting for us :D

I'm not sure how the shop or my home fared yet...I'm out of state for a family wedding. My main employee and a handyman boarded it up saturday so I guess I'll find out when I get there. My tenant (I rent half the shop to an antiques dealer) said that she thinks its fine but she couldn't get inside because of the plywood hehe.
I know we have power...I phoned and got the answering machine ;)
I was supposed to fly home Tuesday night but the Atlanta airport was closed so I couldn't make my connection. Delta says they'll get me home Wednesday so here I sit in Owasso, OK with my fingers crossed lol.

Joesmom I'd love to have you drop by the shop to say hi. Also, there's a coin show in Orlando on Fri, Sat and Sun...Oct 1 2 & 3. I have a table there so maybe you can hit the show, too?

My fingers are crossed that both your home and shop are in tact with minimal damage. Sorry to hear of your delay...I can't imagine that there's much to do to pass the time in OK...lol.

Unfortunately we wont be able to make the show that weekend. We're flying in to Orlando on Saturday the 2nd and I'm guessing that Joe will be bouncing on the bed bright and early Sunday morning to get going to go see Mickey. We'll probably have some free time by mid-week and I was planning on trying to track you down if you aren't too far away. Can't wait to meet you!

Well, I know I got lucky when it passed through Tampa. We got minimal results and I had power the whole time.

    HOME AGAIN, HOME AGAIN...

We got in tonight. The 1st flight sat on the tarmac for 30+ minutes since the destination (Atlanta) was swamped with people and flights so they stopped all inbound flights for awhile, then the connection from Atlanta was delayed too, of course.
Now I get to sleep in MY bed and head to the shop in the morning :)

    It's a great feeling.
thanks for all the thoughts, you folks!
    Nick
