Latest Finish Constantius II AE Follis Trier

    I just finished this one. It has very heavy silver and won't let me get too much detail. I included closeups as an attempt to show the silver.

    Constantius II, AE follis, Trier. AD 337-341. FL IVL CONSTANTIVS AVG, laureate, cuirassed bust right / GLORIA EXERCITVS, two soldiers holding spears and shields with one standard between them. Cross on banner. Mintmark: TRP. RIC VIII Trier 39; Sear 17958.

    Hard to tell… but it may have a TES mint mark. It’s fun to uncover history. Many give these coins a pass, so it’s good to see someone enjoying them!

    It may be TES. But, I don't want to disturb the silver. As soon as you move a little it all wants to come off. Thanks for the feedback.

    TES is not an option...the mintmark for Thessalonica would be SMTS[A]
